“Ruby plum with a garnet like sparkle refining the glass edge. To match the colour, deep black plums are the initial aroma before leaning back and letting in touches of bramble, blackcurrant, olive, and all spice/ nutmeg. It has a gravitational pull, it feels deep and dense, but on the palate the first thought is of refined class, elegance enwrapped in the finest of tannins and deepest of lengths. Complete, mid weight on the palate and demanding of further inquiry by further sips – complex and delicious.”

"This is a great release and what I like most about it is its ‘mineral’ acidity and firm graphite feel to tannin, which marks it out as a wine of serious intent and structure. Red and black fruit, blackcurrant pastille, baking spices (ginger and nutmeg in particular), mint nougat, cigar box, with a subtle pepper and dried herb character. It has intensity and carriage, and while it’s a little bony and strict as a young wine, there’s more than enough stuffing for it to go the distance, and indeed, you get the feeling that it’s something of a vin de garde.
